Despite challenges including significant leakage, the project took an extraordinary turn when the remaining whiskey was rescued, vatted, and rebarreled into five select Zac Cooperage #4 Char barrels in 2019.

This whiskey reached its peak after 8.5 years, achieving a remarkable transformation during its double oaking process. Bottled at cask strength (104 proof), "Dark Star" is not only potent but also intensely flavorful, with only 1,050 bottles produced from the five surviving barrels. This scarcity and the unique history of its production make each bottle a coveted item for collectors and connoisseurs alike.
