Winemaker Notes

Philippe le Hardi Mercurey vieilles vignes has a sparkling ruby red color. The nose is very expressive, with mainly the scent of fresh, red fruits such as cherry and strawberry. The attack is round, well structured and with nice tannins. Philippe le Hardi Mercurey vieilles vignes offers a lot of concentration and is very harmonious.

Tasting Notes

This open and fruity Old Vine Pinot Noir from Mercurey shows red fruits, balanced acidity and soft texture. The ripe red fruits are complex and layered with a crisp, juicy aftertaste. Made from vineyards chosen for their south-eastern exposure and their location in the middle of the hillside in order to obtain optimal maturity and a lot of complexity. The soils are rich in red clays with a marked presence of limestone. This composition gives the wine a lot of power and depth.

Winery Notes

One of Burgundy’s largest wine Domain’s. Its prestigious heritage, which comprises a remarkable Château with a glazed tile roof and 90 hectares of vineyards, is the product of a time-old legacy that is closely tied to the history of the Burgundy wine region. This remarkable château, with its varnished tiles, is a spectacular piece of heritage closely tied to the region’s history. Its vineyards are split between the Côte d’Or and Côte Chalonnaise. The diversity of its ‘climats’ results in a rich palette of wines with distinctive styles that reflect the subtleties of the Burgundy varietals.
