Deep and brooding nose of earth, blackcurrants and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied with firmly structured tannins and acidity, showing notes of mulberries, licorice and dark chocolate. Robust and rustic. Drinkable now, but best from 2028.

Tamber Bey's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Deux Chevaux Vineyard is a nicely balanced and reasonably priced effort, easily marrying cedar, sage and black cherry aromas. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and easy to drink. It's not overly concentrated but does grow a bit more velvety and tannic on the finish.

Plump and forward, with friendly plum sauce and boysenberry compote flavors. A light frame of melted licorice holds the finish together. Drink now through 2028. 1,203 cases made.

Our Deux Chevaux Vineyard in Yountville is a versatile site that can ripen a diverse range of grape varieties to perfection. This pristine vineyard is situated in the central region of the Napa Valley, right on the border between the Yountville and Oakville AVAs. In this not-too-hot, not-too-cold, just-right “Goldilocks Zone,” we have found a perfect home for our estate-grown vineyard designate wine program, which encompasses fresh, nuanced and balanced expressions of Chardonnay, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and our signature full-throttle blends.
